The Space Development Agency’s TAP Lab has evolved into the BMC3I TAP Lab, expanding its mission to encompass Battle Management, Command, Control, Communications, and Space Intelligence for the U.S. Space Force.

To mark the transition, Catalyst Campus for Technology and Innovation and the BMC3I TAP Lab Colorado announced a multi-phased program designed to strengthen collaboration between commercial innovators and government stakeholders. The centerpiece is the Mission Catalyst Summit, a three-day conference taking place July 21-23, 2026, at Catalyst Campus and the BMC3I TAP Lab in Colorado Springs.

The summit is free and open to innovators, startups, and technology developers seeking to understand BMC3I mission priorities and available resources. Attendees will hear directly from lab leadership, learn about current mission challenges, and connect with technology stakeholders.

Phase 1 of the BMC3I TAP Lab program begins after the summit as a six-week cohort experience. Selected Focus Area Cohort Teams will align their technologies with mission needs, strengthen customer discovery, and build relationships with government stakeholders through virtual and in-person workshops.

The evolved lab structure reflects a broader Space Force push to accelerate technology adoption from the commercial sector, particularly in battle management, command and control, and space intelligence domains that are critical to modern orbital operations.

Applications for Phase 1 open in conjunction with the Mission Catalyst Summit. The program was announced following a July 9 virtual Ask Me Anything webinar hosted by Catalyst Campus.
